Snaps is a lively and fun place where you might even find a few local celebrities, artists and musicians as well as ex-banksters. Great bistro style food at very good prices. The house wine is cheap but great, they have good rib-eye steaks and the muscles (moules frites) are my favourite. The atmosphere is also brilliant so it’s a great place to start if you are going out for the night. Their brunch was also voted the best in Reykjavík.

The fish here is awesome, flame broiled and served in skillet with delicious buttery garlic sauce... Supposedly Ricky Gervais had their fish burger 3 times :). Cool fun place and not too expensive.
One of my favourite things about Kol is their cocktails and whisky selection but the food is also great. Great small platters and tasting menus.

(Fish market) is a place to go when you want to splurge and have a great dining experience. Great service, good wine and awesome food. I recommend going with the tasting menu. Make sure to call in advance.

The best Thai place in Iceland and maybe even Europe. It's a family place and the service is super slow but the food makes the wait totally worth it. Great place to go with a group of friends and grab some drinks.

A fairly new restaurant in Reykjavik but interesting, they serve smaller platters so you might order 2 or 3. I ordered 3 and was really full. The salmon cheviche is great. Lovely small place located across the street from Hallgrímskirkja.

I really enjoy the ambition and atmosphere at Geiri smart, really well prepared delicious plates and a great selection of wine specially catered to their nordic style food. A bit pricy but so worth the experience.
